Microsoft offers a way to make a DIY portrait-based dock for the Surface Pro 3

Surface Pro 3 3-in-1 dock

Microsoft already has a docking station available for the Surface Pro three, but information technology only allows the 12-inch tablet to be used in lanscape fashion. Today, as part of its Microsoft Garage program, the visitor has released files and instructions to create the 3-in-1 Dock, which will plow the current docking station into a portrait VESA-mounted dock for the Surface Pro iii.

The project, which was first demoed during Microsoft's Build 2022 programmer conference, does require that the maker have admission to a 3D printer and a light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation cutter to help create the parts needed to put together the 3-in-one Dock. Information technology also requires that the user open their Surface Pro 3 Docking Station, which will void its warranty. Once the DIY project is completed, the dock will allow Surface Pro three owners to apply the tablet in portrait mode on the same centre level equally their regular PC monitors.
